It's now over 35 years since the Joystrings phenomena took place, yet those five brief years changed our lives completely. In this year of the new millennium, 200, we were presented with the opportunity of a reunion.
Initally it was a getting together with session mates from the Proclaimers of The Faith Session (1963-1965, but as The Joystrings were born whilst we were at college, it seemed appropriate for as many as possible of the group to spend some nostalgic moments together
To commemorate this occassion we arranged to have as many of the old recordings as would fit on a double CD, especially 'decrackled'!.

Technicial Explanation on the 'decrackling'!

My thanks to Marc Harry who reproduced the CD from old 45s & LP's. This is how he did it:

The first task was to master the recordings onto Hard Disk through a minidisc. Using Cool Edit Pro, I asked CEP to 'declick' on its most stringent setting. 20 hours later some 38 million clicks and pops had been eridacted. I was then able to remove a layer of 'noise' and then I 'declicked' again on a setting which took away most of the rest of what clicks were left. Finally, I manually removed most of the remaining ones. A few tracks had jumps (most notably 'Yes Indeed!') so to repair these I had to edit sections from other parts of the song into the appropriate places, most of these edits are 'invisible' The Joystrings are now restrung
