A LITTLE HISTORY: Famous in Great Britain since 1964, the Joystrings (poursuivent) their ministry as musical evangelists by travelling around the world. Last year, they had the honour of being presented to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and, for the celebration of the 900th anniversary of Westminster Abbey, they were the first to present modern music under the abbey vaults.

BILL: Vocal soloist, Captain Bill Davidson is the writer of testimony songs. He also works with young drug addicts in a Salvation Army clinic in Chelsea in London.

SYLVIA: Captain Sylvia has been married to Peter since July 1967. Television has made her famous in England. She is the solo singer and writer of folk songs.

PETER: Captain Peter Dalziel plays bass guitar and writes jazz. He designed the cover of the Joystrings' last Christmas record.

WYCLIFFE: Wycliffe Noble, percussionist, not being an officer, doesn't give all his time to The Salvation Army. He is an architect specialising in detailed designs for the physically handicapped.

JOY: Captain Joy Webb was an officer instructor at the Salvation Army International Training College in London where she formed the Joystrings group. She wrote 'It's an open secret' which has had a global success in sales of 'pop' albums. She participates in the musical training of young people in The Salvation Army in Great Britain.
