Carol Of The Bagpipers

A star shone up in heaven
The night the child was born;
The radiant light it cast afar,
Turned darkness into morn.
To the wise men in the east
Who had waited very long,
It told the glorious news
That on the earth a Saviour,
The son of God, was born.

And on that night of nights,
Great peace did reign upon earth;
The angels sang, the world rejoiced
The night of Jesus birth.
To the shepherds on the hilltops
Who were watching o'er their flocks;
They sang the glorious news
That, on the earth, a Saviour,
The son of God was born.

La, la, la la, la la …

Although the years have passed,
The star is shining still,
And peace and joy can still be found
By all men of goodwill.
To the rich man and the poor man.
To the young and to the old,
It tells the glorious news
That on the earth, a Saviour, the son of God was born.
